Details: This funding can be applied to security deposits or any kind of fuel or utility bill. It can be used to prevent anything which could cause homelessness, such as fixing furnaces, repairing broken windows, thawing out frozen pipes, or any other threat which could lead to people having to vacate their homes. The money could be used by the resident to do repair work, or to hire a professional to do so.

Details: This funding can be used for caulking; replacing storm doors; insulation for ducts, attics, knee walls, and side-walls; inspections and repairs of furnaces and water heaters; replacement of broken or missing windows; re-glazing and insulating around windows. It is available to homeowners and renters. The funding must be used by licensed, private contractors who work with Community Action.

Details: This funding can help pay for repairing roofs, sidings, windows, and to provide new furnaces and water heaters. Homeowners match 25% of cost. The rest amounts to a low interest loan which the homeowner never pays unless the home is sold. This program is not available to renters. The money must be used to hire licensed, private contractors must do the work

Details: This funding can be used to pay for materials for residents who are able to do home repairs themselves, or it can also be used to hire licensed contractors for people not able to do home repairs themselves. It is offered to members of the Sault Ste Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians who are homeowners residing in the tribal service area. Through the program, members can get windows replaced if the windows are old or broken. Rotten frames can be replaced. Inadequate doors can be replaced. Insulation can be installed.
