Boy Scout Troop 104 Helps Stock Food Pantry

To the Editor:

We receive several times a day the statement, “Thanks so much for what you do.” The “you” should be plural because the volunteers hearing the thanks are a small part of those who are contributing behind the scenes, not only Cedarville residents, but also from surrounding communities.

An example of this is Boy Scout Troop 104 in Cedarville, who each year put many hours into collecting canned goods, paper products, and packaged food for our food pantry. They dropped off empty paper bags at households explaining that they would return to pick up full bags with canned goods for the Cedar Post Emergency Food Pantry. They also provided a place to drop off bags of food at the Cedarville Foods parking lot. There was an opportunity also to contribute money, which resulted in a gift. This can be used for food vouchers for dairy products and fresh vegetables.

This year the campaign resulted in more than a ton of food and paper products that will help us provide help to the increasing applications for help.
