The Cedarville Trojans outscored St. Ignace 66-28 in the final three quarters to down the Saints 76-43 during a non-conference game at John Duncan Gymnasium Tuesday, December 16. St. Ignace junior Gage Kreski scored his 1,000th career point.

The Saints held a 15-10 advantage after the first eight minutes before the Trojans outscored them 24-6 in the second quarter for a 34- 21-halftime lead.

The Trojans closed out the win, outscoring the Saints 42-22 in the second half. Kreski reached his milestone 1,000th point at 6:30 of the fourth quarter. He scored 22 points during the game.

Joe Duncan, Brad Causley, and Caleb Williams combined for 53 points to lead the Trojans’ offense.

Trojans JV Post Win

The Cedarville Trojans defeated the St. Ignace Saints 45-29 in the junior varsity game.

Cedarville Defeats Pickford In EUPC Contest

The Cedarville Trojans remain undefeated after a 74-35 win at home over the Pickford Panthers Friday, December 19. The Trojans have a 4- 0 overall record and a 2-0 record so far in the Eastern Upper Peninsula Conference.

The Trojans led 51-22 at halftime and held a 23-13 margin in the second half.

DeTour Records Significant Overtime Win Against Rudyard

The DeTour Raiders posted their most significant win in the last three years with a 86-82 overtime decision on the road against the Rudyard Bulldogs Tuesday, December 16.

“This is a huge win for our program,” said DeTour Coach Johnny Fountain. “We trailed by nine in the fourth quarter and could have called it quits but the team played hard to post the victory.”

DeTour held a 21-13 lead after the first eight minutes and took a 43-39 scoring edge into halftime. The Bulldogs bounced back, outscoring the Raiders 20-9 in the third quarter to take a 59-52 lead into the fourth quarter on the offensive strength of Zack Steikar (who finished the game with 38 points).

The Raiders trailed by nine points early in the final period, but rebounded with a 25-18 advantage to send the game into overtime. Mike Bailey hit a floater at the buzzer to tie the game at 77. During the fourminute long extra period, Bruce Bailey and Trey Norris each scored three points, Jordan Bailey added two points, and Blake Melvin chipped in another for DeTour. The Raiders outscored the Bulldogs 9-6 in the extra period.

Four players scored in double figures to lead the Mackinaw City Comets to a 76-40 non-conference road win over the Brimley Bays Monday, December 15.

The Comets led 38-24 at halftime and outscored the Bays 38-16 in the second half.

The Mackinaw City Comets fell to the Boyne Falls Loggers 80-39 during a Northern Lakes Conference game Friday, December 19.

Bays Down Eagles In EUPC Win

The Brimley Bays defeated the Engadine Eagles 59-56 during a home Eastern Upper Peninsula Conference matchup Tuesday, December 16.

The Eagles held a 37-32 halftime lead before the Bays outscored them 27-19 in the second half.

Panthers Fall To Blue Devils

The Pickford Panthers fell to the Sault Ste. Marie Blue Devils during a home non-conference game Monday, December 15.

The Blue Devils led 28-16 at halftime and outscored the Panthers 33- 17 in the second half.

Black Bears Fall To Polar Bears

The Maplewood Baptist Academy Black Bears dropped a Northern Lights League road game to the Grand Marais Polar Bears, 48-46 in overtime, Thursday, December 18.

Joe Eckola of the Black Bears sent the game into overtime with a basket at the buzzer, but the Polar Bears outscored them 12-10 in the fourminute extra period.
