DNR Furtaker User Group Meeting Is February 28 at Little Bear East

Regulations for fur harvest of martens, fishers, and bobcats will be among the topics at a Furtaker User Group meeting Wednesday, February 28, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Little Bear East Arena and Community Center in St. Ignace. It is open to the public.

This is the final meeting before potential regulation changes are recommended in May to the Natural Resources Commission for the 2018 regulations cycle. The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will present issues and their intended direction, as well as gather input on potential alternatives for regulations. They will be looking at marten and fisher regulations and Upper Peninsula bobcat regulations primarily.

The DNR will review the running list of regulation issues, discuss any new ones, and ask for input on future priorities. This input will be used to help select topics to be addressed during the 2020 regulations cycle.
