Bulldogs Wrestlers Pin Down Sault, 36-33

Rudyard’s wrestling team competed in the Upper Peninsula Championships Saturday, January 20, and the Bulldogs were led by Torin Miller, who placed fourth at 130 pounds.

The Bulldogs were at Sault Ste. Marie for matches Wednesday, January 17, where they beat the host school, 36-33.

For Rudyard, Bradley Hall had a pin in 27 seconds at 103. Devin Ellison had a pin at 112 in 3:57. Larry Laponsie had a pin in 1:01 at 125. Tyler Spencer (189), Marlon Staten (215), and Orrion Belleau (285) won by forfeits.

There were double forfeits at 152 and 160. Rudyard forfeited at 130. Torin Miller (135) and Sean Ellison (140) lost their matches for Rudyard.

Rudyard tied Newberry 36-36, but lost the match on criteria.

There were double forfeits at 112 and 125. Bradley Hall (103), Miller (130), Spencer (189), and Marlon Staten (215) won by forfeits. Rudyard forfeited at 145, 152, and 160. Ellison (119) won by pin at 119 and Laponsie (125) won by pin in 33 seconds.
